Scott Flynn is leader of the KPMG Board Leadership Center (BLC)—supporting directors in their board service roles through an array of events, peer exchanges, in-boardroom briefings, and thought leadership. In this role, Scott oversees the Center’s various programs, including KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute, Board Peer Exchange, collaboration with the WomenCorporateDirectors Foundation and other board diversity initiatives—focusing on the issues driving board agendas and engaging with directors and business leaders to articulate their boardroom challenges.
Scott has over 28 years of experience with operational, accounting, reporting and internal control issues facing the retail, restaurant, consumer products and technology industries, including SEC filings, carve out financials and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICOFR). He has extensive international experience, having led KPMG's U.S. GAAP and Risk Management teams in the Shanghai office with responsibility for advising Chinese companies on U.S. GAAP financial reporting as well as leading decentralized global, multi-location audit teams. He also has significant experience with forensic investigations and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Scott previously served as host for KPMG Consumer Markets Chief Audit Executive and Restaurant Share Forums.
